Tom was a part of the IOC group that helped get the Paralympic Games recognized and integrated into the Olympic Games worldwide. He has 6 children, 3 step-children, 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  He and Joyce have been married since 2005 and enjoy living in the Texas Hill Country near San Antonio.

 

Tom has completed a good career in the property and casualty insurance industry as a claim adjuster.  He spent several years as part of a catastrophe adjusting team and worked all around the country handling claims for windstorms, hurricanes, hail, fire and even spent almost two years in the Los Angeles area handling earthquake claims.  He is now retired and spends much of his time volunteering and mentoring amputees all around the state.
